When I first delved into photography, I wanted to photograph wildlife. In my mind, animals are the coolest things on earth and a prairie dog is one of my favorites.

We were out in South Dakota when we happened upon hundreds of prairie dogs. I couldn’t get out of the car fast enough. I began shooting in every direction to catch these adorable little creatures.

We were about to leave when I saw this small guy eating. I walked slowly toward him and set up camp. I was waiting for my moment. It didn’t take long. Suddenly, he jumped up and appeared to pray! The little noise that came out of him was precious and all I could say as we left was Amen!
